The main difference between semi packaged ball valves and fully packaged ball valves is the degree to which the ball valve sealing gasket (ball seat) covers the ball, as follows:

1. Half pack ball valve:

• Coverage level: The ball seat can only partially cover the sphere, usually only covering both sides of the sphere.

• Characteristics: Due to limited coverage, there may be residues and dead corners in the valve chamber, resulting in material retention.

Applicability: Strictly speaking, it cannot be called a sanitary valve and is suitable for situations where hygiene requirements are not high, such as the transportation of water and gas.

Limitations: The use of half pack ball valves is limited in applications that require high cleanliness and no retention.

2. Fully enclosed ball valve:

• Coverage level: The ball seat adopts a fully enclosed design, which can completely cover the ball and reduce the dead space in the valve chamber.

• Features: Effectively solves the problem of material residue, meets CIP/SIP (online cleaning/online sterilization) requirements, and is known as a non retention ball valve.

• Advantages:

Hygiene: High cleanliness, no dead corners, avoiding bacterial growth.

Sealing performance: High performance sealing materials such as PTFE are usually used to ensure good sealing performance.

Durability: Reasonable structure, long service life, low maintenance cost.

• Application areas: Widely used in industries with strict hygiene requirements such as food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, beer, etc.
